An Alpaca and the Pink Ribbon

It is the long-awaited Ribbon Festival Day. Zukka tied a favorite pink ribbon around her neck.

Today is the anniversary of my close friend’s death. She passed away from breast cancer. We met and became friends when we were in Australia on a working holiday. During our stay, we worked on alpaca farms, traveled a lot, and spent most of our time together. When I think of her, memories of the smell of grass and the serene look of the alpacas come back to me.

I want to see you again.

A Cat on the Moon

Sachi was born on the moon boat. The moon boat has a gentle glow and illuminates the deep dark ocean.

One day, when I looked up at the night sky, the bottom part of the crescent moon was covered by clouds. It was like a boat floating in the dark ocean. While I was watching and thinking, “Who is on the boat?” “Where does it go?”, it completely disappeared behind the clouds.

The Butterflies in my Stomach

“I have butterflies in my stomach” is an English expression for feeling nervous. In Japanese, “Insects in my stomach do not calm down” is an expression for feeling angry. It seems that “feeling-insects live in people’s stomachs.

A Belly Dance

When uncle Toma shows up, Nene becomes very happy and performs her favorite dance.

When I was walking down a lonely road at night, a man in a suit in front of me suddenly knelt down and began speaking baby-talk loudly. As I passed by nervously, I saw an adorable cat showing her chubby belly, and rolling from side to side. I became very happy seeing them.

A Raccoon in my Sweater

Pochia has made a full recovery thanks to a warm sweater and mugs of herbal tea. He is looking forward to spring.

In the summertime, I saw a raccoon with no fur in my neighborhood park. It seems that he had a skin disease. When autumn came to an end and I pulled my winter clothes out of the closet, images of him feeling cold came to my mind. I wished that I could give my sweater to him.
